Cutie Pie

Mrs Candi brought to my attention that Cutie Pie has never had her own post.

Shame on me!!

She is THE most important dog in this family.

Ok, maybe she is tied with Lola, Latch and Tug.

Ok maybe we have the best dogs on this planet.

Back to Cutie Pie.

We got Cutie Pie a long time ago... over 12 years!
Before we had Cutie Pie she would make the half mile trek from her house to our house and would spend the day playing with our dog, Cadi. A half mile was nothing for her because she was only a puppy! She was under a year old. At the end of the day when she was done playing... she always went back home.

Sadly, our neighbor that owned Cutie Pie was killed in a car accident and after that Cutie Pie came to our house and never went back. We tried to take her back two or three times but the guy's girlfriend finally just said I don't want the dog y'all keep her!
So we did.
She fit in well in our family and she must have known it!

Cutie Pie is about 13 years old.
Although she looks it... she doesn't act it!
On any given day you can find her playing with Latch like she is a puppy again.

She loves armadillo hunting! She has backed off of this activity a little bit in the past year, but occasionally you will find her covered in mud and solid black from hunting with the boys!

She mostly sleeps, but lately she has been a little more active! I think she likes all this warm January weather!

She LOVES going on trail rides with the horses. She has always been my trail buddy.
She would go for miles and miles with me.
There is no where I have been on my horse that Cutie Pie hasn't been.

As she has gotten older, she doesn't go on rides as often as she use to, but every now and then she will go with me. I try to keep those rides short so I don't wear her out!

Even if she doesn't ride... she always goes out to the pasture with me to catch up the horses!

Cutie Pie looooves babies!

Anykind of baby...

It seems like whenever she sees a baby her eyes light up and it looks like she is saying "A baby! A baby! A baby!"

Baby cows, baby ducks, baby dogs, baby cats, baby humans, baby horses.... she loves babies!

You can easily see how she got her name... cause she is SO DANG CUTE!

Even in her summer look!

She is extra cute when she is sleeping!

Cutie is head dog around here. She puts Latch and Tug in their places when needed.

The day that Cutie Pie isn't here anymore is going to be a very sad day.
She is such a special dog and we all love her.

Who wouldn't love a dog that cute!

90 minutes.

I blow dried my hair for the first time in over a year this weekend.

That means that I only ever need to buy.... 1 hair dryer in 20 years.

Or, maybe my entire life.

Don't be jealous of that volume, people!
It takes practice getting it to look like that!

I use to get made fun of for my hair being so frizzy, but I bet those people that made fun of me never were offered money for their hair. Yes, I said offered money for their hair... I have been offered money for my hair on multiple occasions.

Of course that was when my hair looked like this!

This is exactly what I look like on a normal day.

My everyday, 10 minute, easy hair do.

My hair do that only takes me.... 10 minutes.

This hair do also takes me 10 minutes.

Don't mind the menagerie of dying plants.

This hair do....

takes me 90 minutes.

1 hour and 1 half.

1.5 hours.

The length of a Disney movie.

The length of a Tuesday/Thursday college course.

The length of a very short horse ride.

The length of time it takes me to drive to Auburn.

One and a half hours.

One hour and thirty minutes.

and don't be jealous of my christmas tree that is still up, sparkling, and brightly glowing in my bathroom. I plan to keep it there all. year. long.

Normal people are able to achieve this hair do in... maybe 20 minutes.

Some people are able to achieve this hair do in the amount of time it takes me to fix my hair when it's curly! 10 minutes people!

And you wondered why I only ever blow dry my hair once a year!!

This is my best friend.
This is Chi.
Did I mention she is my best friend?!
She is!

So, mark this day in history as the day you saw Molly with straight hair!
Cause it only happens once a year!

It may actually start happening more than once a year if I can bring myself to invest in some dry shampoo in a tiny bottle that only costs $10 dollars at walmart. Geez.
If I can get this hair do to look good for 3 days with dry shampoo, and not start getting greasy... then you might just start seeing me with straight hair!

Inside my phone part 3

Pictures from my phone! Enjoy!!

My MeMa gave me this charm... She truly believed this poem told the truth about every one. I believe it too!

Friday's Child is Loving and Giving!!
fits me perfectly if I do say so myself!!

My and my MeMa were both Friday Children. The only two Fridays in my family. I will always strive to be just like her. Classy, loving, giving, and unforgettable.

What child are you?! Just look up what day you were born!

Monday's child is fair of face
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath Day
Is bonny and blithe and good and gay.

My precious Cutie Pie.

Pig Show!

First off,

It was only last week when someone came trudging onto my blog and made me feel as if I couldn't write what I feel for being watched like a hawk and picked apart. Well guess what, I don't care. If you want to come onto my blog and mock me- that is perfectly fine with me! You are only wasting your time and brain cells.

I only hope that one day you will be as mature as I am and have a relationship with someone that makes you as happy as I have been with my boyfriend.

I also can only pray that you will never be treated as I have been treated by you, but I can hope differently.

As one of my favorite bands sings  "I don't think that I could be so Cold hearted".

That being said! Moving on.

On a lighter note, and the reason I started to write this post, Josh and I had a very busy and successful weekend!!

As many of you know Joshua raises showpigs. Duroc showpigs. He had a very bad incident where his main breeding sow and best momma pig miscarried. She was carrying the pigs for the show that happened this past weekend. Since she miscarried, there were no pigs for the show this past weekend.

That all changed when Josh and I made the long trip to Butler, KY. I could have sworn I wrote a blog post on that, but I can't seem to find one! I'll just post a quick recap! :)

We left the boring flatness of middle GA and headed toward the gorgeous mountains of TN and KY.
We got to our destination and picked up all these little piggies!
Most of them are for kids that show pigs and wanted a KY pig that Josh picked out for them.
The two 'red' pigs at the top left corner are Josh's two little show pigs.

I loved that trip. It was fun and relaxing.

Josh and I both agree that roadtrips are our favorite things to do. Just the two of us, no one else to worry about!

While we were at the barn in KY, Josh had to pick out his pigs. He was looking for a gilt and a barrow. He was had chosen his gilt and was trying to figure out which barrow he wanted. He and I narrowed it down to two, then, boars. He has since castrated the poor fella making him a barrow. Anyways, it was down to the two. Josh couldn't decided which one he wanted for sure. I knelt down beside him and tried to help him figure out the flaws of each and the positives of each. At some point, after he was still undecided, I just blurted out... "That one! He's got the best... everything" and he said "Looks good to me!"

So Aubie it was. Bet you can't guess where I got that precious name from!
I named the gilt Bree and the rest is history!
Bree

Josh and I spent some time walking them and Josh fed them up the way he knows how and off to the show we went. Since the two pigs were litter mates, they are very much the same size. He was sure they would be in the same class (since classes are done by pig weight), but they just happened to be in two separate classes! He took Aubie out first. The second he walked out of the holding pen the judge pointed at him. He was pinned! Yes, my little Aubie has a chance to win this thing! (Every pig that the judge likes he sends to a different holding area to look at them again after all the other pigs are out of the way. He has to look at about 20 different pigs in each class, sometimes more, and pick 8 of those to place.)

I go get Bree and bring her around into the holding pens to get her ready to go into the ring for the next class.

They let all the 'pinned' pigs out of the ring and the judge looks over them for a while. He slowly pins certain pigs again which are the pigs that are 4th-8th places.

Josh and Aubie are still in the ring.

Then the judge looks at one guy and holds up three fingers. He turns around and quickly flashes two fingers at the other showman and one finger at Josh. He won!

Now it's Bree's turn! Guess what, same thing!

We have 2 first place pigs and there are only 2 classes of Durocs. Josh automatically wins Grand Champion and Reserve Champion for the Duroc breed! It was just a matter of picking which one was Grand and which one was Reserve. Aubie ended up with the Grand and Bree was Reserve.

I'm so proud of Josh! He won BOTH Grand and Reserve! He was pretty excited too.

Sorry for the horrible quality of this picture! I was the only help Josh had and I didn't have time to fumble with my camera, alas the cellphone was there.

Since Josh won the overall Duroc show, he had to stick around and show in the overall final drive. That means there will be one pig from each breed (all the Grand Champions) showing together in the ring for the judge to pick out the Grand Champion Overall Pig.

Josh didn't expect to win this because the Duroc never does, and just as suspected the Crossbred won the Grand and the Hampshire won the Reserve.

Overall, it was a great (& long) Saturday!
Big thanks to Clint and family for helping Josh get the pigs to the showgrounds while he was on his way back from Athens!

The rest of the weekend was great as well. I am now sitting here at work waiting until I can see Josh again! I miss that boy when he is gone...
But, so happy I can call him mine! :)

I think we might just have to have some little pig showers of our own one day! Don't worry, they will show horses too!

My MeMa

Some never have the love of a grandmother. Most do. I sure am glad I had the best grandmother of anyone I know! MeMa was some kind of special and I think about her and miss her every single day.

Nothing hurt worst than losing my MeMa on October 1, 2011.

The fondest memories of my MeMa are those at her pink house that is nestled right across from the middle school in my hometown. Countless memories happened in that house.

She sang us to sleep. All kinds of songs from She'll be coming around the Mountain when She comes to Minnie the Mermaid to Yankee Doodle Dandy. She also told us stories- the most popular was the one with my sister Ashlee. Her duck that my dad had shot was kept in the freezer and she played with it for a while. When it started thawing out, they put it back in the freezer! one day, it's head fell off. Ashlee quickly looked up at MeMa and said, It's ok Daddy will fix it with his screwdriver!

My favorite memory- I would wake up in the middle of the night and she would be gone from the other twin bed that was shoved up next to mine. I would listen... and she would clear her throat from the den. She always did that... but my favorite part. The next time I was over there I would grab her thumb and hold it really tight and tell her "I'm going to hold onto you so you don't leave me in the middle of the night!" She would always laugh so hard. Little did I know, the moment I fell asleep my grip would disappear.

I use to dig for worms in her flower garden- I loved digging for worms.
We use to draw on her driveway with sidewalk chalk- hop scotch to sunshines to horses.
I was always allowed to bring a friend over. Brittany was always my top choice. We would play dress up in her long, elegant nightgowns from the 80s probably. They had lace and were made of silk.
Linsey and I wore her high heels and her jewelry. We always put on a fashion show.

One of her bathtubs was sunken into the ground. I thought that was the neatest thing ever!
She always had the fun bath tub toys. I had a blue wooden whale that had a hole in the top of his head that let out air bubble when you put him under water. I wish I could find that whale...
Then we always had the numbers, letters, and shapes that stuck to the side of the tub.
And you can't forget her stockings and hose hanging over the bathtub!
She always had a little heater in the bathroom and would always turn it on when I was in the bath so I wouldn't get cold. I can still see that heater sitting on that lime green wicker shelf with the glass balls that looked like giant grapes.
She always had a tongue scrapper and a rock for deodorant.

In the room next to the bathroom, there was a huge great dane figurine under the bed. He always scared me... but now I would love to have him. MeMa is responsible for my love of Great Danes... she had one named Goliath and now I want one. I just may have to name him Goliath just like my MeMa's.

Every morning for breakfast we always cooked pancakes. Drip Drop Pancakes. Circle pancakes. Any kind of pancake. Cottage cheese pancakes. and I always had fruit. I could eat a huge bowl of fruit. It was always so yummy at MeMa's house! Grapefruit was a big hit as well.

My siblings and I would always get on tricycles or bikes (whatever our too long of legs would fit on) and race around the house. She had a perfect circle that went from the kitchen through the den through the foyer and back to the kitchen. It was like our little racetrack.

She had a miniature table next to her bookcase that was just for us. We played GOfish, OldMaid, colored with beeswax crayons, and did puzzles. That little table is in my house for Blair and Faegan... I remember that table being so huge when I was little!

MeMa loved lions and roosters. They were all over her house.

We had huge bean bags in front of the tv that we always sat in.
We always watched 'Savannah Smiles', The Munsters, and played the old nintendo game with the duck hunting game.

Christmas Eve was always celebrated at MeMa's. MeMa was as good to us as Santa Clause was. She got us anything we wanted and loved watching us be spoiled.

I can't think about MeMa without thinking about her gum bag. She had a little green velvet bag that had 5 or 6 different flavors of gum. Everytime we went somewhere, we always got to choose a piece of EXTRA gum!

We also played the time game. When we left the house we would try to guess down to the minute what time we would get to our destination. Whoever got the closest won the game. We never won anything, just the title of being winner.

I will never forget MeMa's black station wagon. It had a little pop up seat in the very back that came up out of the floor... Brittany and I always sat in that seat and begged the truckers to toot their horns by pumping our fists up and down when we were on our way to the movies.
We always went to the movies with MeMa. She took me to the movies well into middle school!
She loved those kids movies just as much as we did.

MeMa was also known for going to the beach with us. She taught us how to make drip drop castles and I always looked forward to the long back scratches on the way to the condo!

We would always have our own bike or rollarblades or scooter at MeMa's house. She would go on a walk and we would all go with her on our bikes throughout her neighborhood.

When I went off to college, I always received a letter from my MeMa. She always called me her precious angel and always was trying to send me money. Even if she didn't have it!
I will treasure those letters and every bracelet, earring, necklace, ring or little figurine she has ever given me. Little did I know that all those little gifts would mean so much to me now, but before I only thought of them as 'little MeMa QVC gifts'.

The most important thing to me is knowing that she was able to meet and get to know Josh, and that Josh was able to meet and get to know her beautiful soul. Josh and I use to spend hours at her house.. just sitting and talking. Maybe watching criminal minds, law and order, or the news.
She had the best advice and the best stories.
I always pictured her at our wedding sitting right there on the first row and it breaks my heart knowing she won't be there.

She was classy, silly, beautiful, honest, happy, forgiving, patriotic, and full of smiles and laughter.

How I wish I had more pictures of the two of us together. You never really know how important those things are until it's too late to get them.

I miss my MeMa so so so so much. I wish that they could stay with us for forever... At least my big brother is able to have her now and get to know her the way I knew her!

I love you and miss you MeMa!
