Horses, Cotton Candy and Josh Turner

This weekend was a good weekend!! I already warned everyone about all the fun I was going to have... and it was had!!

Minor disclaimer to this post.... I didn't take many pictures this weekend. Sad face.

Anna and Chris arrived on Friday night and we started the weekend off with a little bit of Mexican food!

Saturday we woke up and went riding. Chris had never ridden before and he looked like a dang pro! He is a police officer, so I told him that when he gets back to Jackson that he needs to tell the squad that he can be their mounted officer! :)
Chris and Anna

I had planned on going to Blair's birthday party at lunch time, but there was a little bit of confusion and I decided that I wasn't going to be able to go. I was really, really excited about her party and I am really upset that I had to miss it. Her cake that my mom made was precious, along with the cookies my sister made!

To see more fun stuff and pictures from her birthday, visit my other sister's blog!

After our horse ride, Josh arrived at my house from doing pig stuff and we took off for the Georgia National Fair!! First thing we did was eat. :)
Let me just go ahead and list out for you what I ate that day: 1 Gyro, 1 Frozen Banana dipped in Chocolate, 1 small Dippin' Dots (Mint Choc), 1 bag of cotton candy, and I think that's it for Saturday. That wasn't too bad!
We met Chris and Crystal (my neighbors from across the street) at the clock tower and got the game plan together.
So, the 6 of us head out for the exhibits after we stuffed our faces with yumminess. We went through the building that has all the people selling things first. There is jewelry cleaner, candy, mattresses, purses, jewelry, these weird hair things that wrap through your ponytail, fat burners, exercise machines, and lots of publicity on vacations and what not. I got my ring cleaned and that's it!
On the way out of the building I got a surprise! My friend and longlost roommate from Auburn had come up from Florida with her new roommates and she was walking in the door! It was so good to see her! I haven't seen her since we graduated I don't think! We visited for a few minutes and she went back outside with us. The famous hypnosis show was going on, so we sat there and watched the end of that! (At the end of this post is a special feature! :)
During the hypnosis show we lost Chris and Anna and I didn't have their phone number, so I was a hawk looking for them. We didn't find them so I prayed they'd call me if they got too bored!

After the Hypnosis show, we started towards the Art building and looked at all the photography and woodcarving. We finally found Chris and Anna! Well, they found us! They had walked into another building and called me, so they came and met up with us in the McGill building. We then proceeded to the ride section where we rode my favorite ride! The CLAW! I forgot how high that ride went!! But it's so much fun and just about the only ride that doesn't make me sick!

We rode rides until about 7:00 then we headed back towards the clock tower to meet up with my mom and sister before Josh Turner!

When we got into Josh Turner, Steel Magnolia came on first. They were pretty good, but I liked Josh Turner better! He is dreamy :) But, like I said on this picture I put on facebook... "He ain't no Josh Rab...!" I know I know... not good grammar.. but it's really between Josh and me. He always says that to me! haha
Here is the only picture I got... with my cell.

After Josh Turner was over lingered around then we headed home!

Sunday was a very relaxed day. My sister went riding with us and then we went over to Josh's barn to see the piggies! I do have some pictures from the barn, but I haven't put them on my computer yet.. so check back.
We got back to my house, gave her dogs a bath, and watched them play with lola.

Then they headed out. I loved having Chris and Anna here! It's like having to awesome roommates! haha! I'm ready for them to come back and visit! Josh and I will definitely be going to see them sometime very soon!! Like... 2 weeks for Auburn vs LSU!

Speaking of Auburn.... Undefeated!!!! I love being a true Auburn Tiger! It feels SO good!!! :)
War Eagle!!

It was a great weekend!! Now I can't wait to go back to the fair!! I'll take my camera this time!!!
*****************************************************************************************************
Did I ever tell y'all about the hypnosis show story? I don't think I did... ok here it goes! Even if I did tell it... I love telling it so I'm going to tell it anyways! :)

In October of 2007 during the fair,  I was sitting in the audience watching the hypnosis show and it was hilarious! There was one particular guy that was super funny. He just kept saying the funniest stuff! I was taking little videos of him on my phone (which you can't do anymore) and put some of them on facebook. I thought he looked about my age, but I didn't know or recognize him. I always wondered who that guy was, but didn't stick around to find out. He made me and everyone else laugh SO hard that day! Well, come to find out, on May 19, 2008 I met that handsome fellow. That was the day that I went back to work at the vet's office when I got back from school for the summer! It took me a couple weeks to figure out where I had recognized this guy from and I finally figured it out... the hypnosis show! I showed him those videos and we couldn't believe it. Now, me and my Joshua have been together ever since! :)
Here's a few of the little video clips..... Enjoy!!!
(Josh... don't kill me please! haha)

Josh is hypnotized in ALL these videos but the last two!!
Josh is wearing green shirt/navy shorts- sitting 4th from the left in most videos.
Josh hypnotized- singing Ricky Martin

Josh after singing being asked where his microphone 'feather duster' came from.

Josh telling Tammy about his milking goat
Milking goats pooping on them... watch Josh in the middle.. haha

She proceeded to tell Josh he got goat poop in his shoe, he took his shoe off and shook it out. Then she told him his shoes were on the wrong feet so he switched them and really did put them on the wrong feet! This is the video of him waking up at the end, coming out of hypnosis and realizing his shoes are backwards! It's short... but so funny.

Before she woke them up from being hypnotized she 'programmed' them to repeat an action and phrase after she said a certain word. She then woke them up and made some 'announcements' containing all the words she used to program them with. Here is Josh doing his action and phrase after he was woken up! Then wondering why in the world he just did that! She said the word but I didn't catch it in the video.

I hope y'all enjoyed that. It's definitely not as funny in little pieces like that... but I just couldn't believe that was Josh!!

Hope y'all have a good week!!

Rainbows

Who likes rainbows?!

My horses do! :)

I love tack. I could buy a new piece of take everyday (even if I didn't use it) and be happy for the rest of the day!
I went to our local feed store yesterday to pick up some cow feed for Opie man and picked up this new halter! I pointed it out to Josh and was talking about how pretty it was. Then Carl, the owner, said Hey Molly we got some new tack! He came over picked the rainbow halter up and said what do you think about this? I said I like it! I like it a lot actually and I am thinking about getting it! It was the last one he had. Then he said, "Well I picked up five in Texas at a tack warehouse thinking they wouldn't sell... They've been here for 3 days and this is the last one. We sold one 20 minutes after they were hung up on the rack!" Well, that just did it in for me. I decided that I had to have that rainbow halter!

p.s. The reason why I had to go get cow feed: My 4 mares decided they wanted to roam the farm for a while. Well, SoBe decided she wanted to roam the farm and opened the gate. They ate a whole bag of cow feed... a whole bag!! Like... 40 pounds! I was an hour away at the time and Bridget, who found them, was late for class and couldn't get them back in.. I called Josh and he went over and got them back in the pasture for me. Thanks Joshy! They also ate Bridget's horses food. Another 1/4 of a bag. I was worried about them foundering, but they are all ok thank goodness! You can go read up on it. I won't go into the details, but it's a nasty nasty thing to deal with.
Now there is a double chain on the gate.... see if you can get that open, SoBe!!

Horse Ride and Friends!

Yesterday evening Josh and I went riding with Chris and Crystal, the precious couple that got married back in June. This is only the second time Josh and I have ridden this Summer. It has been so hot that I can't ride more than an hour. I usually just grab Flint and go bareback around our farm for a bit. I have said in a previous post that Chris and I use to ride all the time. All the time as in all day, everyday of every week! I don't know how we did it... I guess it helped that I swapped horses every 2 or 3 hours, but I rode at least 6 hours a day and sometime more!
We definitely wouldn't ride that long... but we got in a good 3 hours yesterday.
Josh and I saddled up two of my horses and set off to meet them on Chris's farm!

On the way there we passed the longhorn family!

Daddy Longhorn approached to say Hi. Then he started swinging his head around trying to hit us with those big ol' horns! He only hit his head on the boards a couple times, then he hit the electric wire. I guess he decided he would stop after that.

Hello Daddy Longhorn!

Where we meet on Chris's farm is in the middle of a gorgeous pecan orchard. I always love taking pictures going through there. I was driving Josh crazy doing it, but they are pretty pictures! He's just gonna have to get use to the whole picture thing sooner or later! :)

This is a horrible picture because of the awful blurriness, but I love it because Josh and SoBe are going really fast and I don't have any pictures of him galloping on a horse! Lizzie and I were going pretty fast too.. hence the blurriness.
I won't blame the blurriness on my little point and shoot!

So we finally met up with Chris and Crystal and my camera started dying so I told them we had to take pictures before it bit the dust!

Chris/Misty and Crystal/April
Even Misty is smiling! :)

Josh and Me

It was a gorgeous ride! We rode through the hayfields and the woods. It was still a little hot but it cooled off pretty soon and the sunset was beautiful!

While I was in awe of the sunset, Chris's dad Mr. Herb snuck up on us! Doesn't he look cute in his cowboy hat!

and then my camera died!

We all had a great time!
We are definitely going to go riding again soon. Before I leave to go to Europe and after all my tests next Tuesday.. I WILL be riding! I hope it cools off enough to be able to enjoy it!

A very scary day.

Yesterday Josh and I decided to go for a ride while we waited on my friend, Anna, that was coming to visit from Auburn. I already had Flint out and saddled up from riding before Josh got there, so I called for the mares and grabbed SoBe for him. We saddled her up and headed out. Not even 10 minutes into our ride we got the bright idea of riding along the creek.
We went down to the creek and I took Flint down first and turned around and told Josh "It's really sinky!" he said "stinky? Why?" "No! It's Sinky!" and by the time I could say lets just turn around and go back SoBe had gone full fledge toward the water. She sunk down and fell forward, so I yelled to Josh to get off of her but he couldn't. She kept falling forward as she struggled to get her footing and then ended up falling over in the mud. She got her legs caught in some tree roots that restrained her from being able to move.
I started freaking out. SoBe is my baby. She was our first foal and this horse means everything to me. She's the one that everyone rides. I couldn't stand the thought of losing her that way. Josh, of course, was calm and was trying to get me calm. Well, that wasn't really happening. I was crying and screaming, I couldn't think of what I needed to do. I just begged her to get up.
I kept pushing her trying to help her get up and pulling on her legs trying to get them out from under the roots. She would try to get up and just groan and lay back down and close her eyes. It was awful. I kept getting handfuls of water out of the creek and putting them in her mouth and when I did that she would struggle to get up.
I finally got her legs moved to where she needed them to be able to get up. She got upright and jumped up and turned toward the hill and sunk back down again. At least she was upright... and eating on a bush. Thats when I knew she was going to be ok.
One of her back legs was sunk all the way down into the mud and the other was free. Her front legs where out in front her her. She finally boosted herself up and was standing. She stood there for what seemed like forever. I took the bridle off of her so she could do it on her own. She ate some more leaves and started walking a bit and finally got on solid ground. She walked back up the little deer trail to the top of the hill where Flint was anxiously waiting. She followed us all the way to the house, saddleless and bridleless. Instead of going to the feed bucket she followed us all the way to the front door.  We washed all the mud off her her, gave her a big meal and put her out to the pasture.

I took this picture when we were walking back up to the house. She looks so tired with her poor head hanging so low. I don't know if you can see all the mud, but there was a lot of it! I thought it was really neat she followed us up to the front door... she knew we were trying to help her!

This is where she was stuck. Her left front knee was stuck under that biggest root.
I think that this was the scariest thing I have ever been through! I'm just glad she didn't break one of her legs. I was scared that her front left was broken for the first 10 min. It would just flop back and forth when you moved it. But, she's ok!

Anna and I just came back from our fairgrounds where there was a livestock show and as we were coming down the driveway I was blowing the horn to get them to come up to the fence. SoBe was the first one to start running, like always! She was bucking and jumping all over the place. So glad she is ok!

Two Days of Snow= LOTS of pictures!

I know a lot of people say "snow.. big deal", but in Middle GA it is a big deal! It only snows about once every 2 or 3 years.. and if it does snow it will be less than 2 inches or even less than 1! But this year we got 4 inches!! Josh and I spent an hour or so outside with my horses taking pictures with them and I got so many good pictures. I also went out the next morning and took a lot of pictures with the beautiful blue sky! I'm so excited about these pictures! I can't wait to get them printed out and put in my new photo boxes!

This is Rose. She's gorgeous in the snow!
I really want to use her for a dressage horse :)
Josh and Rose. Right after this picture she tore off running!
It's a really cool series. Maybe I'll share them another time!
SoBe looking for some treats!

Sun coming up! Melted the snow :(

Wish I could have gotten this photo in the photography contest! oh well!

Rosey Girl

Sassy girl. If you knew this horse... this is nothing new! Hence her name.

But She can be sweet!

My SoBe girl!
She was zoned in on the feed bucket so this is the only good picture I got of her!

My blue eyed Lizzie, I think she's so pretty.

My gorgeous Flint (I think all my horses are beautiful.. haha!)

Of course the dogs were playing! Lola hated the snow on Day 1 when it was falling...
but Day 2 she was all for it!

Coal kitty... he wasn't too fond of the snow.
He was pretty upset with me for making him get out there!

We sure did have fun in the snow! Josh took some time out of his very busy pig show day and came to take the snowball fight pictures that are in the post before this one! I love all those pictures! Thanks to my Mom for taking them! :)

Bringing Friends home is Fun!

The weekend of Nov 6, I took two friends home that I have a few classes with at Auburn. I just recently became friends with Katie and Anna, but they are two of the sweetest girls that I have met in Auburn! I'm glad I was able to take them home with me and share our little piece of Georgia!
We packed up the car and headed out of Auburn on Friday. When we arrived we visited all my horses and a few of the young cows that are pasture mates to Flint. Mom had asked me to help with a catering job... so I also recruited them to help us, along with another new friend Bridget (she goes to the local university and is from north GA) and of course Joshua! We all dressed up and headed out to the barn to help cater!

Here we all are about to start serving!
Katie, Bridget, me, Joshua, Anna, and two young ladies that mom knows through the chamber.

Katie and my mom!
We had a lot of fun, but I know my feet were killing me by the end of the night!

Saturday started all the fun!! Bridget, Anna, Katie and I woke up and had cinnamon rolls then got started on getting all the horses' stuff together! We got saddled up and Josh showed up to take some pictures for us.

Anna on Rose, Bridget on Sassy, Katie on SoBe and Me riding Flint
We rode for about three hours and had tons of fun.

Me and Bridget!

We got back home, went and got some lunch at subway and headed out to Josh's barn to visit the pigs!

Anna loved the piggies! We got back to my house and went out to the cow pasture to play with the cows. There is this one particular cow that was raised on a bottle, I call her charlotte, so we went and gave her a few hugs! :)

Except... Charlotte got a little sick of us! so Katie didn't get a change to get a picture with her. so we chased down another cow.. she wasn't too excited about it either.. lol

Later, we decided to have a bonfire, so dad got it started while we went to walmart to grab some hotdogs and s'mores stuff!

Sunday we went to waffle house and got a late breakfast. We went back to my house and Anna and I rode horses for a little bit. Then Josh and I took a ride too! :)

Then We just hung out in the yard and played around with the dogs all afternoon! Soon Dad got off the tractor and got a gun out for us to shoot, under Josh's supervision! :)
Teaching Katie how to shoot!

After we taught Katie how to shoot correctly, i think she hit the can! :)
Anna taking a turn

And Josh shooting the cup in the air!

We were sad to leave sunday night after we ate some Cracker Barrel with my parents.. but we had to get back to school. Maybe we'll have another weekend at someones house sometime soon! :)

I'm going home in two days for eleven days!! I'm SO excited! I can't wait to see all of my family and my horses and of course Joshua! :)
